Wellington Youth Theatre

Program Group: SENIOR View Synopsis

SENIOR YOUTH THEATRE is for students age 7 to 12 years.  Students do not need any previous stage or acting experience, however, they do need to be prepared to contribute, work hard and have loads of fun.

Youth Theatre is NOT a holiday care program, it is serious theatre for those that are keen to learn and be on stage.

Plays and musical plays are written so that every student receives a meaningful role with dialogue.  Roles are designed so that those with more confidence and experience can be extended, while those less confident can be nurtured.

Play Synopsis

It is said that the greatest treasure ever plundered on the high seas is hidden on Dragon Island. But, the only map showing the treasure’s location was written by the famous female pirate, Cheung I Sao, and she is now dead. Join Lord Henry, the treacherous Corsair and his partner Lady Mary, as they scheme to acquire this treasure map. Will Captain Black Bart and his crew on The Raven and Captain Bonny and her crew on The Silver Shadow fall for their scheme, or will they wise up to the Corsair and make him walk the plank?
